The 14,000 m² complex represents an investment of 110 million US dollars, and marks a milestone in the Group’s presence in Egypt. With a production capacity of 1.5 million appliances a year, the complex will provide 2,000 jobs for Egyptians. Beko plans to export 60% of its production to markets in the Middle East, Africa and Europe, with an export value of up to $250 million a year. The complex will also manufacture appliances for other international brands such as Whirlpool, Ariston, Indesit and Hitachi.

The government has worked hard to attract this giant industrial group to the Egyptian market,

said Mostafa Madbouly at the eventthe inauguration, according to dailynews Egypt . He added that this initiative was part of a wider strategy to attract international companies to Egypt. “We have succeeded in attracting three giant companies, including Haier, Beko and Bosch“, he said, pointing out that other large factories will soon be inaugurated in the country.

A strategic contribution to the Egyptian economy

Ümit Günel, Managing Director of Beko Egypt, stressed the importance of this project for the local economy:

Beko’s industrial complex represents an important asset for the Egyptian economy in general and for the industrial sector in particular.

He added that the complex will use 50% local components, which will encourage Egyptian suppliers to improve their performance and position themselves on the map of global competition according to ahram.org.eg. The Prime Minister also visited a refrigerator testing laboratory, designed to assess the energy stability of the appliances, as well as the various manufacturing and packaging stages within the complex.

Strong commitment to the region

Fatih Ebiçlioğlu, Head of Durable Goods at Koç Holding, Beko’s parent company, said,

This first industrial complex in Egypt is a milestone that underlines our commitment to the region and our confidence in its potential.

He added that the plant will serve as a key platform for meeting the needs of customers in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Hakan Bulgurlu, CEO of Beko, also emphasized the strategic importance of Egypt in the company’s growth:

Egypt has always been a key part of Beko’s journey over the years. Today, with the opening of this complex, we are starting a new chapter in this market. By combining our manufacturing capabilities with the strategic opportunities that Egypt offers, we are convinced that this complex will become a regional hub.

Technology and innovation at the heart of the project

The Regional Director for North Africa and Managing Director of Beko Egypt also highlighted the site’s technological innovation

This plant is a testament to Beko’s technological strength, based on the latest production techniques, including advanced robots and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs).

He also highlighted the digital manufacturing infrastructure that guarantees high levels of efficiency, while reflecting Beko’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

This inauguration thus marks an important milestone in Egypt’s industrial strategy, which is increasingly positioning itself as a regional hub for exports and manufacturing. With significant investment and cutting-edge technological support, the Beko complex is part of a growth dynamic that promises to boost the competitiveness of Egypt’s industrial sector on the international stage.
